A slightly different peterme.com. Posted on 06/14/2001.

Thanks to Lane, I'm now running peterme.com with Greymatter. Which means things like built-in permalinks, archives, comments, and karma. I'll probably be fiddling with it for a bit, but it seems good to go. Whee!

Now if only I had something to say....

GreyMatter is most excellent. The amount of control that it affords is unparalleled. The built in comments, search function and template system are super. For those people trying integrate BlogVoices into Blogger - wake up! GreyMatter has it all. Also you escape the tyranny of your content and posting being tied to someone else server uptime and network connectivity. As I post this BlogVoices is down due to T1 problems. Oh the freedom. Oh the freedom.

Nicely done. Thanks for the changes, particularly the comments as you find some amazing items and I imagine those that read PeterMe will have great comments.

I have been rolling my own blogger-type system as Blogger's outages and bugs kept me from posting items (which is my digital memory). I am currently running the whole thing by hand and FTP. Grey Matter may be a better option.

Hey, a scant 3 years after I urged Peter to add permalinks! Thanks, Lane!

I envy Lane's hair. In honor of his superior tonsorial choices, I have shaved my head bald.

Now, if only he'd stop being a Lakers fan. That'd be nice.

Greymatter is good stuff. Also, belated congrats on the redesign (I know that it's old news now, but anyway). Stay strong my brotha.

i'm not a lakers fan. i mean, i have nothing against the lakers, but i'd hardly call myself a fan. i'm sort of a "root for the underdog" type, you know?

Hey Peter! As you probably know, I use Greymatter...it's not too extensible, but it IS very reliable. It'll do until I get up the gumption to write my own personal content management system that works the way I think a PCMS should work. ...did I just use "gumption"?

One usability problem I see over and over is that people don't seem to understand that the comments are tied to the posts. I'm always getting comments for olds posts in the comment area of the latest post. Let me know if you see the same thing...maybe I just need a re-design?

Hey Peter, can you explain the use of the Karma points on the front page? Or is this some tiny experiment (or half implemented feature)?
